We run a free Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Twitter Space every Sunday at 5:30pm BST.
According to Mind, DBT is…
“… a type of talking therapy, based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but specially adapted for people who feel emotions very intensely.
The aim of DBT is to help you:
- Understand and accept your difficult feelings
- Learn skills to manage them
- Become able to make positive changes in your life
‘Dialectical’ means trying to understand how two things that seem opposite could both be true. For example, accepting yourself and changing your behaviour might feel contradictory. But DBT teaches that it’s possible for you to achieve both these goals together.”
How to join
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in with the discussion or just listen. To join the space, follow our @BipolarClubDx twitter account then look for the space at the top of your mobile phone screen when we’re on air. We recommend joining from your mobile as this gives you the option to speak.

You can sign up for reminder notifications from a scheduled Space card in one of our tweets. When we start the scheduled Space, you’ll receive a notification.
All #DBTclub sessions are recorded so you can listen back at any time. Related tweets and recordings can be accessed via the #DBTclub hashtag. We base all of our sessions on the ‘Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook‘ which you can optionally purchase to follow along.
